Track your net worth in Penge

Bring every account and loan together in one place and watch your net worth grow over time.

What is net worth and how is it calculated?

Your net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. Add up your assets, such as savings, property and investments, then subtract your debts, such as your mortgage and other loans. The result is a single snapshot of your financial health, and tracking it over time shows whether you are moving in the right direction.

Getting the figure honest

  • Value property at what it would sell for, not what you paid or what you hope. An estimate you would not accept as a buyer makes the whole number decorative.
  • Decide once whether pension counts, then stay consistent. Including it makes the figure much larger; excluding it tracks what you can actually reach.
  • One reading tells you little. The point is the direction across a year, which is why it is worth writing down the same way every time.
